History: One of the oldest Romanian traditional grapes, with more than 2000 years of history.

Characteristics: Babeasca Neagra is an old native variety cultivated mostly in the South of Moldova. Usually the Babeasca Neagra wines are made for current consumption. However some very high quality wines are made in Nicoresti District - Moldova. A vinery making excellent Babeasca Neagra wine is Senator from Moldova.
